Malmö can’t seem to win on home ice.
On Thursday there was another loss.
This time against Växjö – which now continues to lead the SHL.

The game on home ice did not really suit the Malmo Redhawks. Not this evening either, when the crowd was so disappointed, as they fell badly against Växjö with a score of 2-5. This was the team’s ninth straight loss (!) at home.
– It doesn’t matter how many video meetings we have if we don’t do it on the ice either, says Markus Silvegaard from Malmö.
The last goal of the game was scored by Robert Rosen, who had been hit hard beforehand and grinned, late in the third period. Scored two goals in the match.

Fatal mistake by Växjö
Malmö also failed to capitalize on a huge mistake by Växjö.
For a 2-2 draw, the home side looked like they could shake the visitors down and claim their first home victory in a while. The Lakers’ deft Joel Pearson was responsible for a blunder when he made his numerical advantage at 2-1, sending the puck past the goal, as Frederick Handimark was eager and made it 2-2.
Stormy at first
It was indeed Malmö who took the lead in the match, but it was a see-saw event. In the third period, Växjö was clearly the strongest. Barely a minute later, Lukas Bengtsson served teammate Robert Rosen, who served 3-2.
Malmö’s uphill climb became even more intense when Hardy Hamann Aktel made it 4-2 in a two-on-one match four minutes later. The end result was nailed by the aforementioned Rosen.
