Lionel Messi kicks the Mexico shirt in the dressing room.
Now Mexican professional boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez wants revenge.
He wrote on Twitter: “He should pray to God that I not find him.”
After Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Mexico, Lionel Messi moved the Mexican national team’s shirt lying on the floor of the dressing room with his foot.
Something that was not well received in Mexico.
Professional boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was the most outraged, taking to Twitter to slam the star.
He wrote, according to the Daily Mail: “He should pray to God that I don’t find him.”
“Just as we respect Argentina, he must respect Mexico.”
Fake photo scam
One user thought it was fun to tease the boxer more and shared a fake photo of Messi squeezing his shirt with a stick.
Then the boxer raged even more.
He replied, “HDP,” which is Spanish for “whore.”
Surrender to Aguero
Messi was defended by his friend and former national team teammate Sergio Aguero.
“Mr. Canelo, don’t look for a fight, you obviously don’t know what’s going on in the locker room.”
“There are always sweaty shirts on the floor and if you watch the movie you see he’s trying to take his shoes off and then he accidentally kicks the shirt.”
But “Canelo” Alvarez was not convinced by the defensive talk.
“You too, scoundrel. Before you wrote to me and looked for me, and now you cry. Don’t be a silly hypocrite,” answered he.
Messi did not comment on Alvarez’s tweets.
Arrested for doping
Alvarez – who has won 58 of 62 fights – became the world’s highest-paid athlete in 2018 when he signed a 3.2 billion kroner contract with streaming service DAZN.
He had previously been suspended for six months for doping.
