The United States eliminates Iran from the FIFA World Cup – champions of the England group
The fateful match between the United States and Iran was fraught in several ways.
When the smoke cleared, Christian Pulisic became a hero to the Americans.
Now the Netherlands await in the round of 16, while England face Senegal.
Iran has never progressed from the group stage of a FIFA World Cup finals.
It didn’t happen this time either
In the politically charged encounter against the United States, the two countries which have not had diplomatic relations since 1978, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic scored the game’s only goal in first-half injury time when he stepped forward and tapped the ball home.
Quddous missed a great position
At the same time, the American fell and was forced to break the match.

Substitute Saman Quddous got a dream place in front of goalkeeper Matt Turner, but he fired over the goal.

The victory means that the United States is ready for the round of 16 as a Group B group and will now face the Netherlands.

For Iran, it will be the passport after a turbulent few weeks in Qatar.
Ahead of the fateful match against the United States, CNN reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) summoned the players to a meeting after last week’s England match and announced that the players would be informed. “Their families will be subjected to violence and torture if they do not sing along with the national anthem or if they protest against the regime in Tehran,” she added.
England won
In the second match, England won according to plan against Wales with a score of 3-0.
Marcus Rashford scored twice and Phil Foden scored twice.
The English will now face Senegal in the round of 16.
