Serbia’s national team was shaken by the accusations.
According to Serbian media, Dusan Vlahović, 22, was having an affair with his teammate’s wife – but the star shot down the rumours.
– These stories are ridiculous, I just want to defend my name and integrity, he said at a press conference.
Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is a key player for Juventus, has yet to play in the World Cup. The 22-year-old is said to have been bothered by the injury, which kept him out of the match.
The star’s absence has been the subject of speculation. Several Serbian media reports, according to Talksport, stated that Vlahović was vetoed for having an affair with fellow Predrag Rajković’s partner, Ana.
Now the star is falling over the printers.
– I regret to start a press conference at the World Cup in this way, but I need to talk about it because my name is stained, he said at a press conference before the group stage match against Switzerland.

– These are people (spreading rumours, editor’s notes) with an empty resume who have not achieved anything, but they certainly won’t get extra attention by my name.
During the press conference, Vlahović also made it clear that he was not physically fit to play the previous matches.
