Doha. Jack Grealish has apologized to Miguel Almiron after the reported taunt.
The Englishman says he has some glasses inside the jacket and he didn’t think twice.
– I do stupid things sometimes that I regret, he says.
On display of Manchester City’s win at the end of last season, Jack Grealish sent a boot to team-mate Riyad Mahrez – but mainly to Newcastle’s Paraguayan player Miguel Almiron.
– There were two secrets. One, take off Riyadh as soon as possible. He was playing like Almiron, Grealish said, while the phone’s camera was rolling.
The derision was often raised during the fall season in the English Premier League. Especially since Almiron unexpectedly became one of the league’s hottest players.

Grealish says he was never asked about the statement, until now.
It was the day after the end of the season and I had obviously had a few drinks, Grealish explains in an interview with English newspapers on site in Doha.
– Then I went to Ibiza and then (the video) appeared.
However, Sky Almiron asked a few months ago if the Englishman’s words had motivated him to do better.
“No, I don’t think what Jack Grealish said has anything to do with my good form and effort, we played well as a team,” answered the Newcastle winger.
Jack is a great player and I wish him all the best.

An answer that the Manchester City player did not skip.
Honestly, his reaction made me thrilled. “What a man” I thought! If someone said that about me, I’d probably be completely black, says Grealish.
He says he asked his friend Matt Targett, also from Newcastle, to apologize to Almiron on his behalf.
– I thought the video was special. But even then, I didn’t have to say that about a colleague.
