Peja Lindholm is ready to be CEO and Club Manager for Östersunds FK

There is a lot going on at FC Östersund.

Now curling legend Pia Lindholm is stepping in as club director and CEO.

– I know how elite level is handled and what is important for an athlete, Lindholm tells the club’s website.

Just over a week after it was announced that Östersunds FK would leave its elite license, the club is taking a step to prepare for the future.

Pia Lindholm, 52, will be the club’s director and chief executive officer.

– It’s a great job. Being able to be a contributing part in building the new ÖFK from the ground up, where the focus will be that the sporting side should be visible, is a task that is hard to refuse. I want to create the conditions for the club to rise to the highest level again, and I believe in that,” says Lindholm in a press release.

And so Pia Lindholm replaces the ice with artificial turf.

His track record on the first surface is long because, among other things, he won the WC Curling Championship three times and represented Sweden at the Olympic Games several times.

– I know how the elite level is handled and what is important for an athlete. It’s not just about performing on the field, it’s also about getting through the puzzle of life on the side. We have an organization that will work together to achieve our goals. Having followed ÖFK for so long, I know we have all the conditions for success, says Lindholm.
