Real Madrid dominate as L’Equipe picks its Team of the Year.
The reputable newspaper has placed three ‘Los Blancos’ players in its Football 11 of the Year.
Every year, L’Equipe awards the Ballon d’Or to the best footballer in the world.
Now the French newspaper has also named eleven junior players with the best footballers in the world in 2022.
Real Madrid won the Champions League and La Liga this spring and the club has three players in the starting eleven. Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Luka Modric participate, and the same applies to Casemiro, who left Real Madrid for Manchester United last summer.
The stars are falling
Earlier in the fall, Karim Benzema was named the best soccer player in the world and awarded the Golden Ball.
In the Ballon d’Or vote, Sadio Mane finished second but missed out on eleven matches in La Cape. Robert Lewandowski (fourth in the Ballon d’Or vote) and Mohamed Salah (fifth) did not participate in the fierce competition for offensive positions.
