Terrifying Craig Gordon Injury – Double leg fracture on Christmas Eve

Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon, 39, will miss the rest of the season.

He collided with an opponent in the match against Dundee United on Christmas Eve – and the club announced today that he suffered a double fracture to his shin.

Our thoughts are first and foremost with Craig and his family, trainer Robby Nelson says in a statement.

The 39-year-old Craig Gordon was the cage-keeper for the Scotland national team as recently as November.

But the question is whether he will be able to do it again.

At the end of the match between Hearts of Midlothian and Dundee United (final score: 2-2) on Christmas Eve, Gordon rushed out of his goal and collided with opponent Stephen Fletcher. The cage keeper was left lying on the grass after the situation. Then he was taken away on a stretcher.

On Monday, Hearts announced that he had suffered a double fracture of his tibia.

“It is of course a huge blow for us to lose a very important player to us, Craig, for the rest of the season,” said manager Robbie Nelson in a statement on the Hearts website.

He underwent surgery

The club wrote that he had already had time to undergo an operation.

– I’ve known Craig for a very long time and he’s a warrior. He’s had injury issues before and has come back stronger, so I have no doubt he’ll do the same now.

This is the veteran’s third serious injury. In the 2010/11 season, he injured his knee and was out for 259 days. Two years later, he suffered another knee injury and missed 791 (!) Days of action.
