Dejan Kulusevski wins the Aftonbladet competition at Goldbollin 2022

Dejan Kulusevski became the youngest player to win Goldbolen from Aftonbladet since Thomas Brolin in 1990.

He received the award after a successful year in the Premier League.

– The whole year has been really great. Kulusevski says I come to Tottenham and take my life back.

The year 2022 was a dark football year for the Swedish men’s national team, which missed qualification for the World Cup and lost periodically in the Nations League.

But there were still players who shone.

Dejan Kulusevski left Juventus for Tottenham in January and has since scored six goals and 13 assists in 28 Premier League matches.

On the national team, he scored one goal and had three assists in seven matches in 2022.

“It is an honor”

Now, Dejan Kulusevski has received Aftonbladet’s Guldbollen Award, Sweden’s Player of the Year award, for his efforts in 2022.

– The Golden Ball from the Swedish Football Association and Aftonbladet goes to a player who, with his intelligence and maturity in the game, has grown to become a leading player in the toughest league in the world in a short time, says Simon Bank when he reads the referees’ motivation during the 2022 year of football.

Even Kulusevski himself is satisfied with his accomplishments during the year.

– I am, of course, very proud and happy to receive this award. There were many people who helped me along the way and it was hard work, but I am honored to receive this award, he says.

The youngest is 32 years old

Dejan Kulusevski is delighted with his move from Juventus to Tottenham, where he is involved in a star-studded attack with the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison.

– The whole year has been really great. I come to Tottenham and get my life back like I was, get my hunger back, get my love back, and then I just shaved. Kulusevski says I feel better every day and have incredible fun when I’m on the field.

The 22-year-old is the youngest player to win the Ballon d’Or in 32 years and is aiming even higher.

– I think I can improve a lot, I’m on the right track. I feel like I’m learning new things every day, the physics are getting a lot better and I’m developing my understanding of the game. It feels good to me now. I want more. That’s something you’re grateful for, but the next day it’s back to training.
