Lulea applauded after leading 3-0

It’s been tough for Brynäs in the SHL this season. On Wednesday night, however, Javeli’s side managed to win 7-4 at home against Lulea.
But the home team had a surprising start to the match. In less than ten minutes, Lulea led 3-0. Leo Komarov scored from close range before Isak Bernström added a solo goal. When Brendan Sheenemin made it 3-0, Brinas acted by changing the goalkeeper.
Tomi Karhunen was sent in and Oliver Håkansson entered, who thus had to make his debut in the SHL.
Huge transformation
Brynäs dropped before the period broke through Oula Palve – and in the second period everything changed. Samuel Johansson served in the second, and at the end of the period both 3-3 and 4-3 came in less than two minutes.

In Lulea it was not so joyful before the third period.
– We have become very careless taking the picture of the match. We don’t play defense well and just stand back and watch what they do. We let them do whatever they could with us there,” says Oskar Engsund.
Penalty match – stormed
Much was said of Brynäs going for an important win when Dmytro Timashov scored 5-3 in the match, but Luleå pared back shortly afterwards. And it only got worse for the home team, when Oscar Eklund received a penalty for a knee tackle.
Ecklind burst into the players’ tunnel and threw his stick away, while Lulea had to power play for five minutes. Oliver Håkansson held on to Brynäs’ goal tightly, and instead the home team was able to expand right after playing square play.
Jacob Blomqvist was the target when he pushed 6-4 from close range, then sent Greg Scott 7-4 into the open penalty area. The goal was the last in the match and with it Brenas managed to pick up three very important points in the lower zone of the SHL, now only one point separates Lulea in tenth place.
We got an easy 3-0 lead. We have a bad second period where we lost a lot of close matches. It’s a very lackluster effort, says Thomas Berglund.
