Derbyan in three days.

Snowboard crazy?

You can say.

The match was not even five minutes old when the two teams met and ten players had to sit in the penalty area.

AIK played better in the first period against Djurgården who had to lay off ailing stars Markus Kruger and Daniel Brodin. Encouraged by the fans, they put the second-placed side under pressure and won the penalty shootout 11-1 – but were unable to get past goalkeeper Matthew Galagda.

An unexpected hero

The second period kept the heat going from the start and culminated in a full fight between AIK’s Eric Flood and Djurgården’s Wiktor Nilsson.

Two penalties after this case.

Instead, the goals came in the third period, with Djurgården scoring first through loan hockey player Fredrik Schletter – his first in a Djurgårds jersey.

AIK responded shortly afterwards through Daniel Muzitto-Bagenda – then decided after a hard puck hit Dave’s skate and found its way into the goal.

Top scorer: Defender Philip Wendlert.

– He’s so cute, this could be a turning point for us, says Match Champion V.C. Moore.

– It’s very difficult in the first two periods. Not much fun but it’s nice to win.

This is AIK’s first derby win this season.
