Samuel Erson is celebrated after three consecutive victories with the Philadelphia Flyers

Rookie goaltender Samuel Erson has been lauded for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Called up from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the 23-year-old has a three-game winning streak.

Against California’s Anaheim Ducks, he was 39.6 seconds away from keeping a clean sheet.

With Carter Hart injured, the Philadelphia Flyers had to rely on former Brenas goaltenders Samuel Ersson and Felix Sandström.

The five-game road trip ended with a three-game winning streak as Penn California swept against the San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.

The last four games were Samuel Ersson’s first four NHL games.

The tradition of great Swedish goalkeepers continues for the Philadelphia Flyers after Billy Lindbergh and Tommy Soderström.

“My best match”

In a 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks, Samuel Ersson was named the first star of the game and saved 28 of 29 shots.

Nine of those shots came from 21-year-old American star Trevor Zygras.

– It was my best match so far, and I started to feel more comfortable. I am patient and wait for situations, says Samuel Ersson, it makes a huge difference to my game.

“stinks”

It was Ryan Strom who broke the deadlock for the home team late at 19.20 in the third game.

It stinks, but it’s the victories that matter. I’m happy to win, says Samuel Ersson, with victories I want to show that I can help the team win and I can’t do more than that.

“In the second period especially,” wrote Philadelphia Flyers journalist Bill Meltzer, “Samuel Erson stood out.”

“The Flyers are going 3-0-0 on their West Coast wild ride, a typically fearsome Disney snowboarding excursion,” wrote The Athletic reporter Charlie O’Connor.

– It’s so cool. It’s very quiet there. Looks like he’s been here for a while, says Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konicney.

Last week, Philip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators was named the all-star of ice hockey and Erik Carlson of the San Jose Sharks was named the league’s second all-star.
