– It’s great that the league is acting, says Julia Rudar.
After an investigation into the NWSL, it is clear that four coaches will be suspended for life.
One of them is Richie Burke, the coach who signed Julia Rodard to the Washington Spirit.
-Rodar says it feels good that the league has acted and removed it, so it will be a safer workplace for us players.
How do you feel when a cheerleader fell for you in Washington Spirit?
– Of course it is a sick situation, but I will not go into any details of what happened to me.

Rudar joined Washington Spirit in 2021 after playing for Kupparbergs/Göteborg FC.
– I think the club has definitely taken steps forward over these years. It was much quieter last year. But now it looks like everyone’s going to be comfortable if that’s anything, and we guys have come together.
How did the players meet?
– Last year when it all happened, we players said ‘we’ll get together and focus on football’. Then we can win the American League by not focusing on everything that was going on around us.
Rudar can’t give examples of any particular situation, but says it’s generally a tougher culture in the United States than in Sweden.
What is hard culture?
Another type of leadership. In Sweden it’s a little more to look at the whole group, it’s a little more difficult and more … like in Germany, for example. This driving style.
