Hasse Backe leaves TV4 and C More

Hasse Backe has resigned as football expert.

The 70-year-old chose not to sign a new contract.

– TV4 came up with a very interesting proposal, says Buck.

During Friday it became official that Hannah Marklund is thanking her, and a day later a new message came from TV4 and C More.

Hasse Backe also stepped down as expert commentator, and Expressen was the first to report.

– I had promised the family that I would close the shop after the toilet in Qatar. TV4 has come up with a very interesting proposal for the extension of the European Commission in Germany 2024, Hasse Backe tells Sportbladet.

– Obviously, you have to take a stand on this, although I promised to step aside. It’s great with EC and the Champions League, but in the end I had to keep my word here at home.

Buck talks about the decision

So you didn’t do Tom Brady?

No, you never know…

The American football star announced his retirement but changed his mind and moved on. This led to a divorce from his wife, Gisele Bundchen.

– No, it can’t be Tom Brady. It won’t happen, Hasse Backe says and laughs, I’m for it.

How do you feel when you made the decision?

– good. Relying so much on the fact that it was a rough privilege, a favor, to work with those rights. I had to do really tough matches. Champions League Final, EC Final and World Cup Final. Both as a commentator and in the studio, I have worked with such dense commentators as Johan Edlund, Åke Unger and Lasse Granqvist.

Hasse Backe won’t be out of work just because the job – where he’s been for 19 years – ends.

– I work for the European Football Association (UEFA) as a mentor and I train women’s coaches. And then I’m a mentor to ATG talent, jogging and jogging coaches. Then I will keep my horse and Lasse Granqvist’s horse in order in our company as well. He’s busy, it’s not just sitting around and doing nothing, he says.

Take hate.

“very well prepared”

Hasse Backe is also looking forward to spending more time with his son.

– I have a seven-year-old son, so there will obviously be more time there too. This is partly why I decided to close shop after the World Cup.

Is there anything specific you are looking forward to doing now?

– Come and see more sports activities with the son. It might become relevant with more travel too, in fact.

How do you think people have appreciated you as an expert commentator over the years?

– as always definitely varied. I think so.

Hasse Backe thinks so.

– But I think it was probably always possible to read that I am well prepared for teams, players, ways of playing and personality traits. There, we spent a long time preparing. I was well prepared, well read and also able to get my thoughts and opinions on what is happening in the match and more.
