Good news for IFK Gothenburg – Marcus Berg wants to play a match in Spain

Moon Markus Berg for the first time during pre-season participated in ball training with the rest of the team.

The IFK Göteborg captain now brings happy news after his back problem.

– The hope is that with those two matches you will be there, says the 36-year-old.

Matkus Berg had been training individually throughout the pre-season due to his back problems.

He is now on his way back and enjoying the warm weather and grass courts during training camp.

– It feels totally amazing. I trained properly on artificial turf at the beginning of the week before I went here, says Markus Berg.

IFK Gothenburg will face Norway’s Tromsø on Monday and Denmark’s Vyborg next Saturday during their stay in Spain.

– The hope is that you can be with these two games. We’ll see, we’ll see, says Marcus Berg, we talked a bit, I’m happy and positive, without any pressure.

“It’s very frustrating.”

In this case, it is initially about playing a certain number of minutes and not an entire match.

– You always want to play, it’s so frustrating not to be fully involved. Then you have to be smart. Now the cup is coming so soon, you obviously want two minutes before that. Then it will be different with artificial turf and freezing temperatures, says Markus Berg.

Now they are waiting and seeing how the reaction will be after this training session.

– You must hope to be positive the day after training. You can often get by with the same training, even if it’s painful. Marcus Berg says it’s a matter of coming back the next day and being there afterward.

In this pre-season, it became its own arrangement with cycling and track running, rather than braking and changing direction on artificial turf.

– Last year I was with every session on artificial turf and I struggled through it every time. I don’t think it had a very positive effect, to be honest. I hope this works out well and that I was able to save some wear and tear, says Markus Berg.
