NHL All Star Erik Carlson and Elias Peterson

Lauderdale Barracks. The All Star’s adventure in South Florida ended quickly for Eric Carlson and Elias Peterson.

But they did manage to score some good goals – and enjoy ice time with Connor McDavid and Leon Dricetel.

“It’s hard not to enjoy being with these guys,” Eric tells Sportbladet.

The star-studded Pacific team was seen upfront as an All-Star weekend favorite, but lost outright 6-4 in the “semi-final” to a Central Division team, and so had to pack up for once.

But Blue and Yellow actors Elias Peterson and Eric Carlson managed to make a good impression.

Elias played as if he was in pursuit of the car that was named Player of the Week honors this weekend and was on the verge of a hat-trick.

– I even scored a hat-trick, – the 24-year-old midfielder points out with a smile.

“Very funny”

Right – but the close posterior pelvis he had tucked between his legs was ruled out after a video review (!) for offside.

As coach Bruce Cassidy jokingly notes:

– The rulers ruined it for us!

Well, at least Elias scored two official goals in protocol and he played, as I said, inspired.

– It was very interesting and I really wanted to win, he continues.

Unfortunately, we weren’t as good defensively as we were in attack.

Erik Carlson also scored a goal and played with style until Connor McDavid scored. Overall, he seemed to be enjoying himself very well in his formation with McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

“Very Wonderful”

– Yes, of course. He says it’s hard not to love these guys.

– We played together before, when the All-Star Game was arranged in San Jose, but then I got injured and couldn’t move. It was more fun now.

The feelings are mutual.

– Eric is so cool, we had a lot of fun with him there, says Draistel.

Soon, the seriousness started again for both of the Swedish stars. Eric San Jose has an away game against Tampa on Tuesday, and Elias will head straight from Fort Lauderdale to New York, where the Vancouver Devils, Rangers and Islanders will take on this week.

Fort Lauderdale’s other two Swedes, Linus Ullmark and Rasmus Dahlin, won their game with Atlantic against Metropolitan and will make the final against Central later tonight.
