Moon New signings Anders Trondsen (27) and Sebastian Hausner will not play for the Gothenburg side against Tromsø on Monday.
The Danish centre-back underwent knee surgery at the end of November.
The list of IFK Göteborg’s injury, illness and uncertainty is long with nearly a dozen players having question marks over them.
What’s even worse for coach Mikael Stehr is that it takes a while before he can keep up with new acquisitions, left-back Anders Trondsen and centre-back Sebastian Hausner believe.
– If it had been a competitive match, many of them would have been able to play. Now we are adapting it to the date we start playing competitive matches (February 20 against Utsikten in the Swedish Cup), says Stahri.
Trondsen, who has not played a competitive game since March 12 last year for Trabzonspor, first suffered foot problems in Plavit but has now given up full training recently due to groin sensations.
Knee surgery in november
Sebastian Hausner, 22, who last played on October 30 for Aarhus, underwent surgery on his knee at the end of November.
– It was a minor surgery and he is at the end of his rehabilitation. It is important to be smart about pregnancy. He could be available for our second game here at camp, says Kali Persson, physiotherapist at IFK Göteborg.
One of the new acquisitions likely to go straight into the eleven against Tromsø? Former Degerforce midfielder Adam Carlin, who shone right through training, took his place in central defense alongside either Johan Bangsbu (who missed two days of training because he felt rough) or Oscar Wendt.
Whether Marcus Berg plays against Tromsø is not clear, the period could be shorter, according to Stahri.
Out of action apart from Trondsen and Hausner: Salo abundance, thigh, Iman Markovic, thigh, Linus Karlstrand, thigh, Sebastian Olsson, hip and thigh joint.
In addition to these, many players, such as Simon Tern and Suleiman Abdallah, are not yet ready to participate in any longer moments of play, according to the IFK coach in Gothenburg.
