In Tingsryd’s match against Östersund last week, Småländers’ goal was disallowed, after entering the operating room.
Isak Pantzare reacted strongly to the decision.
– We must have another goal. It’s not the judges’ fault, it’s those bastards who sit in Stockholm, or wherever the hell they are, calling out to us. We practice it every day, we walk into the penalty area and then they pull a clean goal. Tingsryd player V.C. More said they piss on Swedish hockey.
The reaction had consequences when Hockey Allsvenskan reported the defender to its disciplinary board. Now he risks a fine.
The incident caused strong reactions in several quarters, with other players in the league expressing that “you have to be careful what you say”.

– There are many who are really crying out for the players’ honesty and true feelings. When a guy does that, it’s refreshing to see and I don’t think you need to make much of it,” Pudas tells Sportbladet.
– You don’t have to execute the judge, but as long as you say what you think and are honest, you should let him go. More people want to hear that than anyone who says you should skate more and send more pucks to the basket.
As a player, do you feel restricted in expressing yourself?
– I don’t know if I’m closed, I try to say what I think and think in a good way. But when you seep into someone like what happened to Pantzare, I don’t think you need to make a huge amount out of it. I don’t think he said anything that went too far.
I hope the league backs down
How do you see him risking a fine?
– I think it’s really bad. The league in general got a lot more media out of that interview than many others. It was a strange move in my eyes. It would be one thing if a hanging judge gets fans after him. He’s not doing anything wrong here, he was just stating his opinion.
Now you’re with Tre Kronor, how’s the conversation going between the guys?
– We didn’t talk much about this. But I think a lot of people feel like they want players to say what they think, but few would probably want to do that if that’s the case. not appreciate it.
Can players take any action?
– You certainly can, but I hope the league understands that they’ve gone a little too far and that it’s not a big deal. They may realize that it’s not over and back off a bit on their own. If this happens multiple times from the same player, you may have to tell them. Players, journalists and fans think the climate is boring, but it’s no wonder it just so happens.
