Natalie Bjorn on a toilet upload site in Sweden: “Sick”

Marbella. Four games, just one set.

That’s what stands between Peter Gerhardson’s national team and this summer’s soccer World Cup.

– It’s crazy to say it like that, – says Natalie Bjorn.

For four days, the Swedish national team gathered in Marbella and began loading this summer’s soccer World Cup.

– you start to notice it. We talk about that too. There will only be two camps before the World Cup. Everything we do will be very important. Before all the matches, we feel good, says Fridolina Rulfo.

This is the penultimate group before leaving for New Zealand in mid-July. Although there are six months left, time with the national team until then is limited, to say the least.

“amazing”

There are four matches scheduled. Two now and two in April.

– It’s crazy to say like that, that there are only four matches left. Natalie Bjorn says:

We don’t have much time together before the tournament, so I think it will be very important that we get a lot of things in place here now over these two games.

On Tuesday, European Championships silver medalist Germany awaits in Duisburg, but first Sweden will play China here in Marbella.

Gerhardson’s wish before the match

– They play a little differently than many teams in Europe. Very high and full back. Maybe a little slower. It’s fun facing teams like that, says Elaine Robinson, because we don’t do that often.

Even if the opposition is different than what Sweden faced last year, national team captain Peter Gerhardsson wants to see that the foundations are there.

High aggressive defense game and counter game.

– And then there are different tactical elements when we meet China and we have a few other things against Germany. But he says the big parts are able to defend hard and strong and make good saves both from high positions but also when we win the ball down and away.

The Sweden-China match will take place on Thursday, February 16, with kick-off at 18.30. The match is broadcast on SVT.
