Oliver Berg was the best on the field when he moved down the middle.
This is where Victor Edvardsen believes he should stay.
– If I may say what I think, then this is where he should be, he says.
Oliver Berge played nine matches during the pre-season, but in the cup premiere against Landskrona, the new acquisition moved into the middle.
The Norwegian was behind most of the match, scoring a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win.
We wanted to play with the best players and then it happened, we had three good strikers we wanted on the field and then Oliver ended up in midfield. From what I saw from the bench he was clearly the best on the field today, maybe I can stick my chin out and say it,” says coach Thomas Lagerlof.
With Berg in the middle, Victor Edvardsen had to play in the ninth, something he clearly wanted.
After the 6-1 win over Landskrona, Edvardsen believes Djurgården should continue with Berg in the centre.
– If I’m being honest, if I can say what I think, that’s where it should be. He’s good and skilful in the ninth too, but his best position is when he can come and drive the ball and be part of the phase play, I think he does that really well, he says.

Edvardsen provided the assist for Gustav Wickheim’s 1-0 goal.
– I’ve become a helping man rather than a target man, but that’s fine too as long as I’m involved and contributing.
Was it good to come back in the ninth round?
– I want to play there. It’s good that I can play in four different positions and now I started ninth and ended up on the right. I feel good about all of them, but above all on top.
Oliver Berg himself is open to playing in several positions.
It might take more time if we were to find the right way with me when I was nine, but I don’t think that’s a problem. I’ll be looking for the same surfaces regardless. Other matches, he says, maybe I’m better than nine, others ten.
