Linköping defeated Rögle when Holtström reached over 200 SHL points

Linus Holtström of Linköping, 30, has just passed the 200-point mark in the SHL.

In addition, he was able to enjoy three points when Linköping beat Rögle 5-4.

– You didn’t think so when you were a little boy in Vimmerby, he says.

199 points ahead of tonight’s fight against Rögle.

After the first period, Linus Hultström reached 200 when he grounded Patrick Russell to make it 1-1. Before that, Rögle scored 0-1 after just 25 seconds.

But there will be more points for Holstrom and many goals in the match.

Blast target

Adam Edstrom gave Rogl a 1-2 lead but Linköping equalized for the second time in the game when Philipp Bistedt made it 2-2 just minutes later. It was the beginning of a see-saw period, to say the least.

As for Rögle, he suddenly rose to 2-4 and everything seemed fine for the guests – at least in an offensive way.

But the home team came back to 4-4, including after a goal by Linus Hultström—his 201st point in the SHL.

– You didn’t think so when you were a little kid in Vimmerby. It’s a landmark to be proud of, says Hultström at C More.

Established

The third period was much less scoring, but it was dramatic.

The decision came with 45 seconds left in the game. Tai Ratty became a big hero when he made it 5-4.

There were grim faces at Rögle after the match.

– Again we lose progress, it’s careless. We lead by two goals and then with five minutes remaining in the second half, we are completely down after two quick goals. This is a huge loss, says Anton Bengtsson.
