Timra was defeated
Skellefteå keeps a tight grip on series wins.
Away against Timra, it was a 3-1 win – in what Andreas Wingerli described as a potential play-off opponent.
– Both teams want to make their mark on what might come, you can feel it out there, says Wingerli at C More.
Six rounds remain and it is an advantage for Skelleftea at the top of the table, which, after a 3-1 victory, is four points ahead of Vacchu.
Against Timra, it looked like a comfortable victory for a long time after Jonathan Bodas gave Skelleftea the lead in the first half, followed by Andreas Wingerli’s 2-0 goal down the middle.
Drama at the end
But there will be some drama.
The third period was furious and intense and Timrå would eventually find the right thing.
Jonathan Dahlén fired the gun into the numerical advantage and Magnus Pääjärvi was cautiously in front of the comeback and lunged at the cut with just over three minutes to go.
But there was no further pursuit of a receipt.
With 1.50 left to play, Ole Palola was offered the cut in the attacking zone and Timrå had to finish in the play box.
Skelleftea eventually won 3–1 after Bär Lindholm scored the goal in the last second of the match.
– We give ourselves a chance but we’re a bit careless and that’s not enough against Skellefteå. We take out our anger in Malmö on Saturday instead, says Magnus Pääjärvi in C More.
Can meet in the playoffs
After the match, Andreas Wingerli promoted Timrå as a potential playoff opponent, which may have been the cause of the somewhat angry incident.
– He’s a potential playoff opponent, so both teams want to make their mark on what might come, you can feel it out there, he says.
