Ligue 1 summit between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

Then Presnel Kimpembe was carried out on a stretcher already in the 16th minute.

The center back remained on the field for a long time face down on the grass.

It was the night of the big stars when the second team, Marseille, was trying to get close to the first, Paris Saint-Germain, in the French League. Before the match, Marseille were hanging on the table and were just five points behind the Paris club.

It was also the home team that would open with the most activity. Full-back Nuno Tavares, on loan from Arsenal, has been effectively released. But another Nuno, this time Mendes, managed to step in with a leg and prevent the finish.

Then the big stars switched gears.

The first goal in the match came from King Kylian Mbappe, who was wonderfully played by Lionel Messi. And in the second it was the opposite. Mbappe then punctuated the final score 3-0, this time also with an assist from Messi. The Frenchman, who has scored his 16th and 17th goals this season, leads the Ligue 1 goal-scoring league.

Paris Saint-Germain won the match 3-0.

Kimpembe was wounded – again

But the main headline from the match was when PSG centre-back Presnel Kimpembe was carried off on a stretcher.

The 27-year-old, who has a long history of injuries, took what looked like a normal run towards his own penalty area. But after just a few steps, the center back collapsed in pain and left face down on the lawn. Kimpembe was treated on the pitch for a few minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.

Judging from the reaction of the center back, the injury was of the most serious type. On a stretcher, you could see how the 27-year-old was visibly upset at the fresh injury fear and that he couldn’t hold back the tears.

Missed the restroom

The French centre-back has had a tough season with plenty of injury concerns. Just over two weeks ago, the 27-year-old returned after a three-month absence due to injury, which kept him out of the restroom, among other things. Kimpembe has only started ten matches for Paris Saint-Germain this season.

Kimpembe has now been placed on PSG’s injury heavy list which consists of Renato Sanchez, Achraf Hakimi and, not least, Neymar.

Paris Saint-Germain leads the French League by eight points from Marseille, the runner-up, and is in the round of sixteen in the European Champions League, where it is 1-0 behind Bayern Munich after the first meeting.
