Now Stefan Anderson is entering the fray for the presidency.
Elfsborg wants Lars-Christer Olsson to take over the association.
– We should be grateful for Olson standing up. I think in elite football it’s the majority for him,” Elfsborg’s club manager tells Sportbladet.
Frederick Reinfeldt is the Nominating Committee’s proposal. However, the battle for the Swedish Football Association presidency is far from over. On Sportbladet’s TV show “Silly-special: 60 minutes about Elfsborg”, club manager Stefan Andersson made it very clear who he wanted as the new boss.
Do you think Frederick Reinfeldt is the right man for president?
I don’t comment on his name like that. But we (Elfsborg) fully believe that it is Lars-Christer Olsson who should be the president of the association. We took an early stand when Jens T Andersson would have fit, but Lars-Christer wasn’t considered.
“It’s great that he’s standing.”
Since then, Anderson has withdrawn from the operation.
– Like everyone else, we followed what was happening. Just standing up for Lars Christer is cool. I hope he’s one of the candidates you can vote for.
Andreesson worked with Olsson at Sef, Sweden’s elite football club.
– I met him in Sef’s painting. But also through his background with what he did for the Champions League and in collaboration with Lennart Johansson. Where powerful forces and to some extent fought against corruption. What Lars Krester has done with Sef and the European Confederations (the interest organization for European leagues) is powerful. European periodicals had hardly existed before him and had become a powerhouse party in Europe, to say the least.

– For me, Lars Christer really qualifies. One of the most impressive people I’ve met in football. When he says he will run, we should be grateful for that. We strongly support it.
Do you feel he has the same support among other elite clubs?
– Whoever saw him working and works with him understands this.
Within the football elite, I think there is a huge majority of Lars Christer Olsson. This is my personal opinion, but I hope and believe that it is. Now the annual meeting has to decide, but that is my opinion and that of Elfsborg.
On March 25, Karl-Erik Nilsson will resign and then a new president will be elected.
