Kasimir Kaskisuo, 29, threw a water bottle at the referee.
Now Leksand’s goalkeeper has received his verdict.
He will be suspended for five matches.
After the tiebreaker in Leksand’s home game against HV71 on Thursday, feelings for Kasimir Kaskisuo flooded. He threw a water bottle in the direction of the referee’s team – and hit the referee in the back.
The accident was classified as serious. I see that there are more instances of physical contact with referees this season, and that is worrying. It’s disgusting, it’s an insult to throw it at a judge. Referee Thomas Thorsprink told Sportbladet on Friday morning: ‘I don’t know the measure of a penalty kick, it’s an unusual case.
The Finn received a match penalty after the final whistle and was informed of the disciplinary committee.
He has now received his punishment: a five-match suspension and a fine of SEK 23,750. Consequently, he missed Leksand’s last three regular season games as well as the first two playoff games.
“Maybe you should have had a PP”
The decisive goal came a little short when Andy Mele headed a backhand into the roof of the net. But the goal came in a shady situation, as it looked like the visitors might have one player on the ice.
Mistakes happen on the ice, the referee makes mistakes, and the players make mistakes. Maybe we should have had a power play instead of this goal, Leksand coach Bjorn Hellqvist tells Sportbladet, and continues:
– But if we ignore that, then what he does is not good.
