Watford has seen a lot of change in coaches in recent years.
Now the club confirms that it will sack Slaven Bilic – the club’s 11th head coach since January 2018.
A change of coaches was the only possible option, says the club’s sporting director Ben Manga to the club’s website.
Watford left the English Premier League last season and is currently playing in the English second division, the Championship. There, the team is in ninth place and is essentially fighting for a play-off spot to try and get back into the sweet room again.
Lately, however, results have been disappointing, and the Hornets have won only one of their last eight games.
This prompted the club’s management to act. And on Tuesday, the club confirmed on their website that they would sack coach Slaven Bilic – after just over five months.

Twelfth coach in five years
But Bilic wouldn’t be the first Watford manager to leave the club after a short stint in recent years. Indeed, since Marco Silva left the club on January 21, 2018, Watford have had eleven different managers.
This season alone, the Hornets have had three head coaches. During the opening eleven matches, it was Welshman Rob Edwards who coached the team, but when he had to leave the position on 26 September, Croatian Slaven Bilic took over. But after 162 days in charge, the club’s management had had enough.
Now, instead, Chris Wilder will coach the team for the rest of the season. The 55-year-old was recently in charge of Middlesbrough but was mainly linked with promotion to the Premier League with Sheffield United.
