New York. Patrick Kane got to try a lot of new things with the New York Rangers last night.
He was responsible for his first assist and scored his first goal and was finally able to celebrate his first win.
– It’s been good to train with the team a few times and of course it’s good to have a record, says the star after finally winning 4-3 Mika Zibanejad during a penalty shootout.
The first two games after the epic journey from Chicago to New York didn’t look quite as icon Patrick Kane imagined it to be.
Rangers lost and he himself struggled to chemistry with his new team mates.
But after four or five days off, when the team was able to play together through a number of practices, it was offloaded against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Center last night.

First, he assisted on a goal scored by Jacob Trueba, thus getting his new team’s first point under his belt. And then, in a power play, he also scored his first goal – shortly before causing a late goal by dribbling the puck.
– It would have been nice for the coaches to leave our squad on the ice so that I could take revenge for this mistake, he smiles.
– Of course it’s good to get into the protocol, but it was also useful to have some training with the team, I know more about how the boys play now.
Tonight’s game was 3-3 full time, then Mika Zibani Nejad became the penalty kick hero.
It wasn’t a perfect effort, but we’re happy they got two points with us, says coach Gerard Gallant.
