– Yeah, it was a series where we were driving the game, so it was tough. We’re actually going through a bad period in terms of the entire series – period two tonight. It looks tough, says Bjorn Hellqvist.

He was clearly dissatisfied with the play midway through the period, and as a way of trying to get the team up in the third phase, he chose to bench his star players Marek Hrevik and Peter Cehelik on four to five substitutions.
Why?
– Because they did not contribute as much as we needed to the attack. Then I think they come in and do really well at the end, when they rest a bit and have to sit down and think really hard. He says they came with a hunger and a desire for revenge in the end.

This was the third consecutive season that Leksand went to the playoffs.
But, as so often before, passport was spot on.
“I don’t know how long it’s been since Leksand won a playoff series…,” says Hellqvist.

– Oh! Yes, there may be a little bit in it, but the will is there and this clincher series is the best we’ve done since I came to the club. We’re taking baby steps in the right direction all the time and we’ve still made it to three consecutive playoff appearances. We’re building stability at the club and with that stability and with a few more games like this under the belt, the chances are growing every time,” says Bjorn Hellqvist.
