gable. Malmö missed Brenas in the first qualifying match.
But Dmytro Timashov is not sure that he will be the same in the future:
– We’ll see if they can do it in seven matches, says Brinas striker.
Brynäs had a home advantage when the “pot playoffs” began, but eliminated Malmö directly with a 5–2 win.
Lukas Fernbloom scored the first two goals of the season (4-2 and 5-2) and another top scorer, Oliver Laurisen, scored the most important goal, 2-1.
As expected, the first match was sometimes a physical affair.
Malmö has a great squad and players like Oliver Laurissen and Emil Selfgaard never miss a chance to hit the brown noses who get in their way.
– The physical match was good, and I’m satisfied with our role anyway, says Oliver Laurissen.
Was it part of the game plan to beat as much as possible?
– Yes, it’s a hockey match and we have an adult team, big guys. This (physical game) should not rule but should be part of our game.
There is no desired effect on changing the coach
Dmytro Timashov obtained Scanian physics experience from Lauridsen, among others on several occasions.
– They are huge and play physically, that’s the thing, says Timashov, who at the same time threw a small jab at the Malmö camp.
– We’ll see if they can do it in seven matches.
What Oliver Lorenson made fun of most:
– We’ve been training for this all year and this is how we have to play when it matters most.
Brynä’s change of coach from Mikko Manner to Ove Molin did not have the desired effect in the first match:
– We haven’t changed anything in the game, maybe some little things, otherwise we’ll continue exactly as we did before, says Timashov.
Do you feel comfortable?
– Yes, it worked before, so we can’t change something like that. We know what we are capable of and we work hard. This was just one match, says Timashov, it’s the best of seven matches.
