Rögle beat Skellefteå in the SHL quarter – Rifalk played great

Rivalk played great in the quarter finals against Skelleftea

Christopher Revalke is hot.

In the 3-2 victory in the first quarter-final away to Skellefteå, Rögle’s goalkeeper played superbly – and made a fantastic save.

— He was halfway to the hot dog stand and back, says C Moore commentator Patrick Westberg.

Christopher Revalke was the touchstone in the Round of 16 against Leixand. The star goalkeeper conceded just four goals on 75 shots in the last two matches as Rouge turned the series around.

Against Skellefteå, he showed his side again.

Rögle really took the lead after just 62 seconds through Dennis Everberg, but it was Skellefteå who dominated the shot stats.

And at the end of the second half, Rivalk made a crazy save.

open target

The ball bounced off the edge behind the goal and Andreas Wingerli had a fairly open goal. Then Rivalk threw himself in and bailed out with the club.

– did you see? It’s too far. He was halfway to the hot dog stand on his way back, says Patrick Westberg, C Moore commentator.

But the Giant Rescue helped a bit there and then. In the fanfare that followed the save, Marco Casper was sent off for delaying the game and Philip Sandberg headed in the equalizer immediately after the power play equalizer – with just 18 seconds left in the period.

Dramatic ending

However, it was Rogel’s night, after all.

Midway through the third period, Adam Engstrom moved forward. The 19-year-old danced into the attacking area and powered his way into the 1-2.

Adam Edstrom later made it 3-1. Jonathan Johnson gave the game a real chord with three minutes left when he contracted, but Roglje managed to beat off dangerous Skellefteå storm and seal a 3-2 win.

The second match of the quarter-finals will be played in Angelholm on Saturday.
