This is how many liters Linus Söderström lost after the drama: “two digits easily”

Linus Soderstrom’s Diet and Recovery

SKELLEFTEÅ. How many liters of fluid do you lose as a goalkeeper in a long extra time?

Linus Soderstrom has the answer.

– It’s double digits easily, says Skellefteå’s goalkeeper hero.

Linus Söderström, 26, had two straight zeros behind him ahead of the fifth semi-final against Örebro last Sunday.

The score was broken five minutes later this time, but Skellefteå’s goalkeeper won again.

But it came at a cost.

Despite many chances to score, it took until the beginning of the fifth period before Jonathan Bodas capped off the action with his 3-2 goal.

– this is funy! 2–2 in games and overtime. Linus Soderström says the match means a lot and that there are very interesting intertwined and dramatic situations as a goalkeeper.

He had 30 shots against him, Jonas Enroth in Örebro all 53 of them.

He loses more than ten liters of liquid

So how stressful is it to complete such long and intense matches in goalkeeping gear?

Sportbladet loaded the battery of questions and Linus Soderström answered.

You lose a lot of fluids. It’s hard, of course. You can top up and that’s what happens to everyone. When you’re tired, it’s easy to lose focus, so it’s about staying focused.

Do you know how many liters it takes?

– It’s easily double digits. I think Enroth lost a little more than that today. But this is a lot. It’s just for filling.

How do you charge your balance?

– I eat until I’m not hungry anymore. I drink until my bladder is full. I do it on repeat. Repeatedly. You can’t try to be a dietitian and think there will be too many calories. Much better than too little. It’s just about pushing yourself.

“Vegetables? Probably more drizzle.”

You mentioned vegetables as a recipe for success in a previous interview?

– Heh. That’s how it is. Sleep is important. You don’t train much this time of year. When you’re on the ice, it’s important to have that sharpness and build good habits. Veggies are always good.

Do you eat a lot of vegetables?

– It’s probably actually softer than a vegetable, if I’m being honest.

How is the recovery after that?

– Maybe like that.

How many hours do you sleep after a match like this?

– we will see. The good thing is that it was a fairly early game (2:30 in the afternoon), so you get to sleep in time. I will try to get 10-12 hours in so the body can recover.

Now there is a two-day break before the two teams meet again in Örebro on Tuesday.

– Overtime, I think you can clearly see that we have much more strength and energy than we have, concludes Linus Soderström.
