Modo stops uploading to fans due to security risks

By a few hours’ margin, Modo cancels the download for his supporters.

The reason is the security risk when Djurgården also faces IFK Göteborg in Allsvenskan.

– Sad, but we want to avoid a quarrel, says the club’s press and communications director John Hagqvist.

Modu will meet Djurgården at a sold-out Hovet Stadium 4:7 in the Hockeyallsvenskan final at 18.30 on Sunday night.

At 15.00, Djurgården plays IFK Göteborg in Allsvenskan at the adjacent Tele2 Arena in front of over 25,000 spectators.

Modo rented the globe between the two arenas for fans to load between 15:00 and 18:00.

‘Worried about security’

Food, drink and souvenir sales will be loaded on site as well as free admission.

Now Örnsköldsvik is forced to cancel the event on short notice.

– Our security department has been in touch with DIF Hockey’s security and also DIF Forboll’s. As Djurgården has a double pool in the annex, there is a concern that safety cannot be satisfactorily guaranteed. That’s why we made the decision to cancel, says John Hagqvist.

Ahead of Friday’s game in Hovet, Modo had the same setup that could have been executed without a break.

“hope for understanding”

Djurgården has rented out the annex in the same building as the Globe for its fans, where there is food, drinks, music, souvenir sales and interviews on stage from 12.00.

After the football match, the annex is open until 18.00 before the ice hockey match.

– It’s sad that we have to cancel, but we want to avoid quarrels. We hope our supporters will understand this and be able to properly upload elsewhere, says Jon Häggqvist.
