Peter Forsberg angry at the referee • Modo – Djurgården

ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK. Edvin Hammarlund himself thought he would have been awarded a penalty for cross-checking with Oscar Peterson.

Instead, it was a two-minute dismissal – something Modu’s camp and legend Peter Forsberg weren’t too happy about.

– Why don’t they take a five and review the review? Should be three matches anyway, “Foppa” says.

At the start of the third period, Modu’s Oscar Pettersson tried to pass Djurgårdsbacken Edvin Hammarlund. Hammarlund hit Peterson in the face and, with the approval of the referees, received a two-minute dismissal for the high stick.

But he himself is set for more than two minutes.

– It’s a club that hits the mouth. In the pictures it looks like a cross check hitting the face. It’s been five before, he says.

– I thought it would now be five minutes in a box game, hell. But this did not happen.

“Foppa” rages

Some who definitely felt it would take more than two minutes were the Modo camp. Including Peter Forsberg in the stands.

– Why don’t they take a five and review the review? Should be three matches anyway, “Foppa” says.

Modu coach Matthias Carlin:

– We mentioned that it would be a comprehensive audit. The judges see it’s a loud club and then they’re not allowed to call it in, apparently. Of course, they didn’t see the situation well because it’s a close scrutiny, he says.

‘They took the wrong opportunity’

Edvin Hammerlund himself thought it might take five minutes. so you?

– That’s how it is. Cross-check in the face, obviously more than two minutes, I think we all understand. Those four (the judges, editors note) clearly didn’t see it was cross-checking and took a chance on a high club. They bet wrong.
