Zoo fan celebrations cost a lot

The joy knew no bounds after Djurgården’s goal in extra time.

But the celebration got out of control in some places.

– Damn. That’s a lot of money when he sees the damage on the displays, says Thomas Kraft, CEO of Djurgården.

Djurgården is out of Modo wrestling’s grip on Hovet and now awaits a deciding seventh final in Örnsköldsvik on Sunday.

The decision came in the second overtime period – and the fans celebrated wildly.

This damaged the fenders under the home plate section.

Thomas Craft about damage

When Sportbladet showed Djurgården CEO Thomas Kraft photos of the damage, he poses for photos.

– Sad to see. Kraft says it only affects us as an association.

– We rent it ourselves from a supplier, so unfortunately it ends up on our account. These panels are very expensive. It depends on how bad it is. It’s possible to change some parts of it, but we’ll have to see what it looks like.

According to Sportbladet’s info, each “board” costs around SEK 25,000.

All kinds of fines and damages are something that hits us hard. This year, unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of that with fines and the like in the paddock, says Kraft.

“It’s difficult for us about the club.”

What kind of fine are you thinking of?

– It could be fireworks or something. It will be difficult for us as a club to bear such costs as well. But at the same time, I understand the energy and emotions.

Sandra Jansson, Events Manager for Djurgården, says the following:

– They know not to turn it on, but unfortunately it breaks very easily.

How do you see it becoming that way?

– It’s boring, of course, but our security officer also talks to heels about how boring he is, so he knows that too. But in euphoria, this, unfortunately, sometimes happens.
