Modo then took the step to SHL.

During the last series against Djurgården, fashion icon Peter Forsberg was present for matches two and five in Örnsköldsvik.
Conclusion: two losses.
So when his club managed to secure promotion to the SHL on Sunday, the 49-year-old opted to stay home in Switzerland with his family.

“Go back to where we belong”
Next year the club plays again in the higher league after being in hockey allsvenskan for seven long years.
“Foppa” of course was incredibly happy after the match.
– I’m so glad these guys put Modo back where we belong. I am very happy for this particular team, “Hinken” (Henrik Gradin) and the coaches did it. We won the series and were the best team all year. Maybe it helped them finish first, so it was an easier journey on their way to the final, because Djurgården did so well, he says.

The series finale featured judging. Above all, Djurgården were harsh in their criticism of the referees after the first final in Örnsköldsvik.
What distinguishes me is that the team never tried to provide an explanation after the loss. When others complained about travel, injuries, or referees, I only read the next day “I should have done better, I shouldn’t have put up with that dismissal, I should have stopped that shot.” So kudos to the boys for not only showing superior class on the ice, but also being the best ambassadors Modofans could wish for, says Peter Forsberg.
