Sweden’s Team for Hockey WC 2023 • Here is Tre Kronor’s team

Federation captain Sam Hallam selected the team to participate in the Ice Hockey World Cup.

Super talented 18-year-old Leo Karlsson from Örebro takes a place in Tre Kronor, which Sportbladet previously revealed.

As young as Peter Forsberg, Niklas Backström, Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and Oliver Ekman-Larson played in the championship.

Leo Carlson impressed during the preparations and is now being named to the WC team.

After Örebro’s SC semi-final exit, Leo Karlsson made four international practice appearances against Norway and Finland as well as two appearances at the Czech Hockey Games.

Leo Carlsson, born on December 26, was younger than Peter Forsberg, Niklas Backström, Henrik Sedan, Daniel Sedin and Oliver Ekman-Larson when they played in the toilet.

Rasmus Dahlin was only 17 when he played in the tournament with Tre Kronor, but it was the Olympics, not the WC.

Leo Carlsson wasn’t a player who was supposed to be in WC when the season started. He is a player who breaks patterns with attacking creativity. It’s very exciting with these young players who are almost improving week by week. What’s also great about Leo is his way of getting into the dressing room at that age and being so humble but unaffected by the situation. Sam Hallam says it’s like the most natural thing in the world for him to step into Tre Kronor’s dressing room and sit on the bench and chat a little with the lads and go out and dare to play his game.

Nine NHL reinforcements

Nine Swedish players from the National Hockey League are ready for the World Cup: Lukas Raymond, Jakob Silverberg, Rasmus Sanden, Patrick Nemeth, Jonathan Berggren, Alexander Nylander, Karl Grundström, Fabian Zetterlund and Jesper Walstedt.

Tre Kronor is still hoping for Hampus Lindholm at the Boston Bruins who will be a dream boost.

William Nylander, Kali Yarnrock and Timothy Lillegren could also be present if the Toronto Maple Leafs are knocked out in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs (3-0 in games with the Florida Panthers).

In total, Tre Kronor can register 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers in the WC.

Not all players selected in the first match will be registered.

On Tuesday, Tree Kronor will travel to Finland for the tournament.

The tournament begins on Friday, when Tre Kronor will meet Germany, among others.

Tre Kronor plays the group stage in Tampere, if they finish third or fourth in the group, they will have to play the quarterfinals in Riga.
