Mikko Rantanen is waiting for the first goal
Finland’s national team was poor at the World Cup and came out poorly against Hungary after two periods.
Then things really eased up for Finland and they won 7-1 – but SVT expert Mikael Renberg wasn’t impressed.

ATA Utama made it 3-1 less than a minute into the period, and two and a half minutes later, Timo Harticani scored the fourth goal against the crossbar.
In the end it was Finland winning 7-1 after Joel Armia finished the scoring with a beautiful solo performance.
– In the same way that we judge Three Kronor, we must judge Finland. It’s the individual performance that leads to the goals and of course they completely dominate the third period and win fair, but still the Finnish team is out of sync over three periods. I’m not impressed with Finland, says Mikael Renberg, an SVT expert.
The great star Mikko Rantanen provided three assists, but he is still waiting for the first goal despite many good chances. In five matches, the playable striker is marked with seven assists.
It’s hard to reach a group victory
This brings Finland to third place in the group with five games to play. They have had favorable opposition in their last three group stage matches, but there doesn’t seem to be any group victory.
The United States (two points ahead) and Sweden (one point ahead) each played one game less, and most things indicate that these two teams settled for group wins in the last game.
