HV71 forecast for injured André Petersson: about three months

Andre Peterson wc finished after an ankle injury against the United States.

The HV71 star now has to wait a few weeks in “Brolin’ Boots” before he continues rehab.

– He should return to full training in August, says HV71 physiotherapist Andreas Frostmark.

The 32-year-old Trey Kronor missed yesterday’s group stage match against the USA and missed out on the rest of the World Cup.

Andre Peterson plays every day for HV71, scoring 21 goals and winning the Indoor Scoring League last season.

– It’s an ankle injury. It is clear from the pictures what happened on the ice. He got stuck with his foot and twisted it, says Andreas Frostmark, HV71 physiotherapist.

It is expected to disappear within three months

Rehabilitation time is estimated to be around three months and it is not believed that it will affect Petersson’s icing or game participation during the pre-season.

Do you expect him to return in your first training match?

– Yes, there somewhere. Fortunately, he’ll be able to pull off the pre-season with some conditioning anyway since you have the option to use the shoe for the first few weeks, Frostemark explains and mentions cardio and strength training.

The shoe is also called the “Brolin Boot” as it was used by former football star Thomas Brolin in his rehabilitation after breaking his leg in 1994.

– It’s a “walker” you walk on. You can put weight on the foot without having to tape it. There is a huge benefit in the rehabilitation itself.

“The worst disappointment has subsided.”

Frostemark reacts to the fact that slightly different information appears in the media about the time of shoe treatment.

It lasts about four to six weeks. What is not taken into account there is that you continue to work in the rehabilitation process without shoes and it may take a certain number of weeks.

Have you spoken to Andre?

– I’ve talked to him several times. Today on the phone and I’ll see him Friday morning. Then we take it from there.

How did he take this?

– He’s a very positive person. He wasn’t so frustrated now, perhaps the worst of the disappointment had subsided. It’s nothing more than liking the situation. But of course this is very boring. I feel he is in good spirits, although we didn’t talk much on the mental side.

Tre Kronor called up both striker Dennis Rasmussen, defender Kristian Follen and, after injury, Andre Pettersson.

Star running back Rasmus Sanden, who also came off injured against the United States, was back on the ice today but stopped training after a quarter of an hour.
