A long NHL season and a tough playoff game ended in the best way for the Vegas Golden Knights, who took home the Stanley Cup title at the beginning of the week.
This weekend they celebrated big – and William Carlson led the way.
Carlson is one of six “original misfits” on the team, meaning players who have been with Vegas since their first season in the league.
The Vegas players rode open-top buses through the city and then celebrated with the fans in front of their home arena, the T-Mobile Arena. There, Carlson stumbled down the stairs and a moment later gave a witnessed speech, judging by the photos with some beer inside the jacket, before the PR person forced him to give up the microphone.

Now it is being celebrated on social media.
“William Carlson just delivered one of the best speeches ever, ever, all the time,” wrote hockey account Hockey Daily 365.
“William Carlson is in a rarity,” wrote The Athletic reporter Jesse Granger, who also wrote that it was the party of the ages in Las Vegas.
One user wrote that a street should be named after Carlson in the city after his speech.
He was taken away by his teammate
Carlson then handed it to Jonathan Marchesault, who was named man of the match, and during his speech, teammate William Carrier took the opportunity to pull Carlson on his shoulder and carry him away.
William Carlson was a solid contributor to the Stanley Cup victory, scoring eleven goals and six assists in 22 playoff games.
