The giant save came in the closing stages of the first half, when Småkrona took a 2-0 lead. They eventually won the match 4-2 in the Gretzky Cup Classic, which is the biggest tournament after the World Cup that can be played by U-18 national teams and is therefore often referred to as the “unofficial World Cup”.
The result was not enough for a place in the semi-finals, but Småkronorna finished third in the group and now awaits the placement match instead.
Leif started the tournament as second goalkeeper, but got the chance when Love Harnstam (son of Chris Harnstam from SVT File) was injured.

Hockey came naturally through my dad. The sport opened to me. But then I don’t think I got any help from “Son Stefan”. I have good genes and an interest, Herrmann said in an interview with Sportbladet this spring.
