Ticket battle before the premiere of Allsvenskan Hockey

There are only four weeks left until the Allsvenskan premiere – and the very exciting Brynäs-AIK reunion.

Then the “ticket fight” broke out.

AIK has received indications that their supporters will receive priority at 450 tickets, and Brenas announced yesterday that there will only be 150 tickets.

It has been ten years since the two sides last met in a competitive match, but Friday 22nd September is the time again. The first show between Brynäs and AIK is expected to be sold out at the Monitor ERP Arena, with approximately 8,000 spectators.

There is an agreement between Allsvenskan clubs to provide 150 parking tickets for fans of the opposing team. It is then up to the host club to decide whether to issue more tickets to the away team.

In recent weeks, there has been a dialogue between clubs as AIK has received indications that their fans will be allowed to purchase 150 seats and around 300 seating tickets.

But yesterday Brynäs informed AIK that they would only get priority for 150 tickets, a number that sold out immediately, and AIK regretted the whole thing via their website and directed fans to buy tickets via the regular ticket issue.

The ticket release Brynäs plans to hold on Friday.

The terrorist threat has changed the circumstances

– What was added in recent days, and changed our position, is the security measures related to terrorist threats, among other things. How do we deal with security with the new guidelines that came and which also includes the AIK match, says Hakan Svedmann, Principal of Brenas Club.

But after the announcement and subsequent reactions, this morning Brenas sat in a meeting to try to find a solution.

– The ambition is to enable more AIK players to come, but we haven’t issued any tickets at all except for members and season ticket holders. Before we can issue other tickets, we have to be absolutely sure of safety, so to speak.

Håkan Svedman hopes all AIK players will have clear information on what applies before Brynäs starts issuing tickets.

– Hopefully there will be a comprehensive solution before tickets are released tomorrow.

On AIK’s side, it is unfortunate that the number of tickets allocated to AIK members has decreased from 450 to 150.

There may be fewer tickets for brown-nosed people in Hovet

“Of course, in my role I feel sorry for our fans who had planned since before the summer to drive buses when we received indications of more tickets, so it ended up being 150,” says Anton Johnson, who is in charge of the private market at AIK.

– But Brenna’s security officer made the decision and it must be respected. Moreover, there is nothing stopping our fans from buying tickets like everyone else.

It could be considered safer if all away fans remained in specific sections rather than sitting spread out all over the stadium.

– I’m not in charge of security for one reason, and I don’t know all the procedures, but my personal opinion is that it’s easier to keep track of the same place.

How many tickets will you issue to Brinas supporters when you meet in Hovet?

– It’s not something we discussed at the moment. The common procedure is to reverse the opponent, so that they become the same. But since it was only decided yesterday, and we’ll meet Brenas in November, we didn’t have time to sit down and discuss it, says Anton Johnson.
