Modo lost to Timra – he collapsed

Matthias Karlin was very disappointed

Modo had the lead in the challenger encounter with Timra.

Then the team collapsed and lost 2-4.

– I am very disappointed, says Modo coach Matthias Karlin in a TV4 Play broadcast.

Modo traveled nearly 14 miles to Timrå in the first “Surströmmings derby” of the SHL season.

They then got off to a flying start when Niklas Volin had a chance to make it 1-0 four minutes later. Timrå would actually equalize, but at 6.38 minutes into the half, Modo took the lead again when Mikkel Aagaard made it 2-1.

But with five minutes remaining in the second half, the collapse came.

Magnus Pääjärvi equalized and with less than a minute left in the period, Albin Lundin gave Timrå the lead.

“Getting up and sleeping”

Modo’s coach, Matthias Karlin, was not satisfied at all.

-I feel very disappointed. This period is very bad. We go around and offer everything possible. The last goal should not happen, we stand and sleep. I’m very upset, he told TV4 Play before the start of the third period.

But Carlin will have to continue to be disappointed.

Timrå were outnumbered in the third period and extended the lead thanks to a strong display. Theodor Niederbach was responsible for the mistake made by the larger model who went straight into the gap on Emil Petersson. Timråstjärnan received the puck and dropped a pass to Robin Hansel who made it 4-2.

Modou put in a strong effort towards the end and took the goalkeeper out with just over four minutes to go. But it didn’t work out and Temra won 4-2.
