Färjestad thrashed Leksand in the SHL – the first clean sheet for Carl Lindbolm

Another victory for Farjestad.

And a new success for Carl Lindbom.

The Färjestad goalkeeper got the goal back in the 5-0 defeat to Leksand and kept the first clean sheet of his SHL career.

Carl Lindbom’s evolution into the SHL suit was evident at the start of the season. The 20-year-old Färjestad goalkeeper had only conceded one goal per game in his first three appearances in the SHL before the meeting with Leksand.

In the fourth, he kept a clean sheet for the first time.

Leksand couldn’t handle Lindbom at all, and when all was said and done, Färjestad won by a huge 5-0 margin – and Lindbom was noted for making 25 saves.

– It felt good. I followed the match well. I don’t know, my body had good speed and I felt good today. Sometimes it feels like it, and it’s really inexplicable, says Lindbom on TV4 Play.

After the second period, teammate Magnus Nygren praised him:

– He was great, both in training and in matches. This doesn’t surprise me and I’m so grateful to have him with us. But the kid is 20 years old, so we have to help him better, it’s not a big experience to give him in his first season in the SHL, says Nygren.

“20 or 35 years”

Continue:

– I don’t know if he is 20 or 35 years old. He is incredibly mature, calm, purposeful and doesn’t seem nervous.

Going forward, it was also good with profits for Färjestad. Markus Westfalt and Viktor Ijdsil ensured that the home team took a 2-0 lead after the first half and at the start of the second half Magnus Nygren scored his first goal of his season back at the club.

– Just as fun as it was seven years ago. Not much has actually changed. It’s old feelings resurfacing. “It’s an important goal and it’s nice to be able to hang it up there,” he says.

Penalty for Lindholm

In the third period, Leksand’s Anton Lindholm received a penalty kick after tackling Henrik Bjorklund’s head.

Färjestad then managed to score two goals on the subsequent power play and eventually they won the match 5–0.
