Michael Brandsig-Nygaard from Mora can write Norwegian history
A super Norwegian talent in Stockholm.

– It’s great, says 17-year-old Moura striker Michael Brandsig-Nygaard.
Dozens of eyes – Djurgården’s press department estimated as many as 50 (!) NHL scouts were on site – studied Brandsegg-Nygård’s final hours in detail on Wednesday evening.
The Norwegian forward, born in 2005, turns 18 on Thursday, meaning he is eligible to participate in the NHL next year, where he is expected to rise. For example, TSN expert Craig Patton placed it at No. 10 in his latest rankings.
-I don’t really look at him. Only my friends, my mom and dad, send me stuff like that. Besides, I don’t think much about it, Brandisg-Nygaard smiles after Moura’s 4-0 win over Djurgården.

There were many scouts watching you today.
-I think it’s great that a lot of people come to watch me, but I don’t think about it much when I play. I just came out and wanted to play the best hockey I could.
How do you describe yourself as a player?
– Power forward. Dangerous shot and good, strong playing sense with the puck. good player.
What was your role model when you were young?
-It has always been Alexander Ovechkin.
Do you also want to contribute to the physical game and be a goalscorer?
– Yeah, I guess I do that now anyway. It’s been a bit difficult with the points now, but it will come gradually. Just keep working hard.
He can write history
Brandsegg-Nygård left Vålerenga to work for Mora’s junior team last fall and played eleven Allsvenskan hockey games last year. This year – in parallel playing in the ‘A’ team – he scored nine points in four J20 matches.
– It can never be too much. I think hockey is fun and I play it as much as I can.
If Brandsegg-Nygård is selected in the first round, he will make Norwegian hockey history as no Norwegian has ever been selected so early.
– This is correct. I’ve thought about it a little. It would be fun if you went there. But you just have to keep working at it.
You are now 18 years old. Could you have celebrated it in a better way?
– It was a victory, and this is the most important thing. Although it wasn’t stupid to score a goal either! But it was a good win.
Should you get your driver’s license now?
– Yes, I’m working on my driver’s license now. I will be driving in November.
The first hours of Christmas are celebrated on the bus on the way back to Mora, with three points in the bag.
– It feels good, the protagonist smiles in the evening.
