The two greatest Swedish ice hockey champions met at the Swedish Hockey Championships for the first time this season – and it was all going to be dramatic.
Visiting Djurgården established a two-goal lead heading into the third period after new signings Zach Magwood and Anton Graden scored their first goals for the club at midnight.
But the third period will be a nightmare for the Stockholm team.

Club in the face
First, Theo Lindstein pulled one back 2:38 into the third period and two minutes later Tyler Kelleher equalized to make it 4-4.
Kelleher missed his first shot and Melwyn was clubbed in the face. Wersäll was taken out of play and Kelleher was able to grab the puck and tie the game. Djurgårdslägret called for Aali Club but the goal was disallowed.
– It is a snapshot moment and therefore it should not be a high club, says expert Mikael Eriksson in a TV4 Play broadcast.
He collapsed
The tie held on for a long time but with just four minutes left, Jack Kopaka made it 5-4 – just seconds after Djurgården failed to manage the power play.
The match was decisive, but Brinas continued to advance. Anton Rudin made it 6-4 into an empty net and with a minute and a half left, Johan Larsson made the final score 7-4 with his first goal of the season.
