Färjestad CEO angry at Gustav Rydal’s sign: ‘There is a limit’

During Saturday’s return to the Löfbergs Arena, supporters of the home team showed their anger towards former FBK player Gustav Rydal by raising a banner.

This is something that the club’s CEO, Stefan Larsson, did not think was okay.

– He told NWT: – Long Sunday walk across the border.

When Gustav Rydal returned to play in Sweden, he chose Färjestad over their biggest rival Frölunda.

Something that Karlstadskloppen fans did not appreciate.

When the two teams faced off for the first time this season on Saturday, fans held up a banner with a message for the returning Rydal.

“You could have been one of our greats. If you hadn’t sold yourself like a whore!” read the banner held up by supporters.

“Very unfortunate”

Now Färjestad’s CEO, Stefan Larsson, is angry at the fans’ behaviour.

– It’s really unfortunate that you can’t get rid of your frustration in a way that is acceptable according to some kind of human evaluation, he tells NWT and continues:

– I spoke with people who have contact with our supporters. We should have a discussion there, because that’s not the way we should do it. The club will indicate that we do not allow this. There is a limit, and this was several steps beyond it, a long Sunday walk beyond it.

Färjestad’s two fan clubs, Bryggeriet and Wolfpack, distanced themselves from the incident and claimed they were not behind the banner.
