Anaheim defeated the Vegas Golden Knights

New York. Maybe it’s time to start taking Leo Karlsson and his Anaheim Ducks seriously.

Last night they did something no one else has done this season: they beat the Vegas Golden Knights in regulation time.

– We feel like we always have a chance, says unlikely goalscorer Sam Carrick after the 4-2 win.

The Anaheim Ducks have been the biggest positive surprise in the NHL’s opening month of the regular season — and they’re clearly not slowing down just because it’s November.

Not only did they notch their sixth straight win last night – having pulled off a solid third-period turnaround for the fifth time in a row.

They did it against the defending champions — ones who had never lost a game in regular time before scrambling to the Honda Center, most recently sweeping Colorado 7-0 yesterday.

– This says something about the character of this group. “We never stop, we never give up,” said Sam Carrick, who scored twice late on the night.

– Whatever we face and whatever we find ourselves in, we always feel like we have a chance.

The Vegas Knights still lead the standings in superior fashion, but they are still frustrated after the loss.

“We never want to lose,” says William Carlson.

Anaheim’s successful Swedish rookie, Leo Karlsson, played but was tackled more cautiously than before and did not score.

The New Jersey Devils had to do without injured star Jack Hughes for last night’s road game against Chicago, but he still managed well.

They won 4-2 after goals from underdogs such as Max Wellman, Curtis Lazar and Michael McLeod.

No Swedish points were scored, but Arvid Söderblom stopped 36 shots for the Blackhawks.
