The white horse player feels remorse

Kasper Gelberg interfered with the main referee, Jesper Ek, breaking his arm.

Now the white horse player feels remorse.

“I feel ashamed and remorseful,” he said on the club’s Facebook page.

The incident occurred in a triangular hockey encounter between Vita Hasten and Motala last weekend.

Vita Hästen’s player, Casper Gillberg, chased down a puck-wielding player at Motala and then obstructed the referee.

The player received no on-ice penalty.

Referee Jesper Ek was taken to hospital with a broken arm and Gelberg now faces a long-term ban from ice hockey.

“What’s going wrong?”

In a statement on the club’s Facebook page on Monday evening, he expressed his regret for what happened.

Casper Gilberg

– Looking back, I saw the TV pictures and the first thing I thought was that it didn’t look good. I feel ashamed and remorseful that I ended up in this situation with Jesper. I would never want to have any kind of contact with a referee, and I certainly wouldn’t engage with him intentionally. “What happens is wrong, and I end up wrong, and this is just accepting the punishment imposed by the disciplinary committee on the basis of the TV images,” he says.

Casper Gillberg has been in contact with Jesper Ek.

– During the day I received Jesper’s contact details and wished Jesper a speedy recovery. I also want to take the opportunity to apologize to my teammates, the association, partners and supporters for what happened.

The 22-year-old played the previous season at Nyköpings SK on their hockey team.
