Växjö beat HV71 in the Småland derby and won 6-1.

Before tonight’s challenger encounter with HV71, Växjö have won eight of their last ten matches. After an injury-plagued start, the defending champions are the fittest team in the series since mid-October.
This trend continues.
The ninth victory in the last 11 matches came after a convincing victory over rival Småland.
HV71 is struggling to get over the qualifying line with the worst possible start at Vida Arena. Two minutes later, defender Bobby Nardella was careless deep in his own area and Hugo Gustafsson was able to break his already negative streak for the season two minutes later.
The operating room corrected the ruling
Four minutes later, Joachim Blichfeld made it 2-0 on a power play that took just eight seconds. The Dane sent a powerful shot that crashed into the top frame of the goal and cheers, but the referees first cleared it with their arms, and then the operating room intervened instead and extinguished the ball.
-You usually know when you score a goal. “I knew it was a goal,” Blichfeld tells TV4.
It didn’t get much better for HV71 in the middle period.
Dylan McLaughlin and Robert Rosen made it 4-0 before Kalle Malahti reduced it to 4-1.
A result that stood until the final minutes when HV took a 6-1 lead through goals from Blichfeld again and Joel Persson.
