A minor suspected of stopping the match

Guthenberg. IFK Göteborg-Varberg was boycotted for 20 minutes after a fireworks display was thrown onto the pitch.

Plovett now suspects that officials are minors.

They don’t come from a supportive environment, says Security Director Mike Sahlinius.

In the 77th minute between IFK Gothenburg-Varberg At Gamla Ullevi on Sunday, something was thrown onto the field which was first described as a commotion, but was a form of fireworks.

The match was suspended for 20 minutes, two photographers sustained minor injuries and the incident was reported to the police.

under 15 years old

IFK Gutenberg has now reached its first conclusions.

– We did our investigation at the same time the police were doing their job. My assessment is that there are three people responsible for the accident. In my opinion, two of them are not criminals – they are under 15. Third in the age group, 14-16, says club security director Mike Sahlinius.

– They don’t come from a supportive community. When we followed their behavior from surveillance photos, we see that there are no regular visitors to Gamla Ullevi. They arrived very late and asked the staff to find the right person. Their interest in the game itself is fantastic.

Have the police heard them yet?

– Not what I know. The police received our information and are conducting their own investigations. There are great chances for the police to identify them. Then the police have to investigate whether they are criminally responsible or not. We can punish them with the regulator’s suspension, says Mike Sahlinius.

unclear motive

According to the head of security at IFK in Gothenburg, it is not clear what motive the trio had for throwing fireworks in the square.

– I don’t know. it’s incomprehensible. I get the impression they were just there to throw this fireworks display. I don’t think they understand what they are doing and what harm they can cause.

How were the reactions?

We have received emails from members who have threatened to terminate their membership because we have to address any pro issues.

– We have not received any criticism of how we handle safety during the match and these people have absolutely nothing to do with our fans as I see it. I tried to explain it to everyone who heard of it.

– It is important that we keep them and all the good supporters. Mike Sahlinius says this incident has nothing to do with the supportive movement.
